 Born on a ranch in western South Dakota, Doug earned a B.S. degree from Dickinson State University in North Dakota and a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Montana at Missoula. The next twelve years, Doug spent teaching, the last 10 years with the Department of Defense Dependent School System. He lived and worked in numerous countries including Korea, Germany, Belgium, England, Bahrain and Holland. He has been a resident of Crested Butte since 1977 and founded Red Lady Realty in 1978. Doug has a strong environmental ethic and is a firm believer in open space. He enjoys skiing and snowboarding and in the summer, his life-long love of horses. He loves the mountains and our Western heritage.
